Pinecone is a suspended and support lamp characterized by a blown glass diffuser, available in transparent shiny or white acidized milk. The diffuser is produced using the old technique of blown glass blown: the glassmaker blows the vitreous bubble inside a metal cage, which contains only natural expansion. In this way the final artifact is partially restrained by the cage and partially escapes, creating a tension game that generates a suspended object in the act of escaping from its constraint; the cage is further enriched by galvanic treatment that enhances its appearance, making it glossy and shiny. The transparent version, in particular, allows the viewer to read a double layer of structure multiplying the scenic effect, and the metallic basket weave projects a kaleidoscopic shadow play on the surrounding surfaces. Conversely, the white version gently follows the cage and emphasizes the geometries by generating a diffused elegant and pleasant light. Illuminated by a light source that the end user has the choice of, it is a highly striking light fixture with strong impact both on and off.
